Writing Journey #28- Publishing The Adventures of Rel Rel
I’VE BEEN ON FIVERR. Or I am working with sellers on Fiverr to edit and push my stories forward. Artists. Editors. Beta readers. I am publishing The Adventures of Rel Rel.
But I’ve had a lot of issues with artists. I would not recommend using Fiverr for art or anything related to art. But that’s just my experience. And a whole other topic. However, the beta readers and book editors have been amazing! I’d highly recommend using them. So far, I’ve worked with several sellers, and I will work with them again in the future!
The Plan
LOST MIRROR IS READY. The manuscript is edited and ready to go. I am working with a new artist not on Fiverr to create a professional cover for the book.
Once the cover is set and ready, I will publish The Adventures of Rel Rel Lost Mirror to KDP as an ebook and paperback. It will be a small, short story, only 26 pages long. I’d like to publish as a hardcover book, but it needs to be a minimum of 10,000 words, and Lost Mirror is only 4,000+.
I may look into a different means of creating a hardcover, but ebook and paperback are fine for now. This is a plan I started in October 2021, and I’m excited to finally see it realized!
I HAVE A PUBLISHING PLAN. For each book, I will have them beta read, proofread, and edited so that the book is as perfect as it can be before I publish it. My biggest issue with self-publishing was all the typos and errors I missed. And when I had Lost Mirror published years ago, the publisher left the book riddled with errors and issues. And it hurt the integrity of my book.
Once the edits are done, I’ll have professional covers made. Then, I plan to post the story to Kindle Vella. I’ll post a few chapters a week. Then, after the book is complete, I will then publish the book as an ebook, paperback, and hardcover.
Closing Thoughts
I AM THANKFUL FOR FIVERR. I don’t have much money, and I cannot afford to shell out hundreds of dollars for editors and beta readers. But the sellers I have found that beta read, proofread, and edit has all been amazing. I would not have gotten my story polished enough to publish without them.
