Writing Journey #33- Voice Actor Wishlist

I’M A YA FANTASY AUTHOR and avid gamer, so I love the power of storytelling. Whether through the pages of a book, the world of a video game, or a television show, the voices behind the characters play a pivotal role in bringing them to life.

I UNDERSTAND THE POWER talented voice actors possess. This is a fun wishlist of actors and actresses that I believe would be awesome to give voice to the characters in my story.

I DO HAVE SPECIFIC ACCENTS in my book. Some characters have a British accent, some have a Scottish accent or Spanish. It would be awesome if these voice actors could add that to their performance, but this is more of a, “it would be sweet to have them voice said character” kind of thing. Not so much book accurate, if you get what I mean? You know? These are just voice talents that I have loved, again, not so much for the accuracy. It would just be cool!

Also! I like to give voice to my characters when I write. Sure, they have accents, but these are also some of the voice actors that I hear in my head when I’m writing. It helps differentiate each character and aids in me giving them their unique dialogue.

This is my voice actor wishlist!

Main Characters

Cristina Vee – Rel Rel

Christina Vee, who voiced Marinette in “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir” and Hawk in “Seven Deadly Sins” has the energy to give life to my main protagonist, Rel Rel!

Cheremi Leigh  – Lily

Cheremi Leigh, who voiced Gaige the Mechromancer in “Borderlands 2” and Asuna in “Sword Art Online,” would be amazing as Lily!

Side Characters

Christy Carlson Romano – Razor

Christy Carlson Romano was awesome as Ren in “Even Stevens,” and Kim in “Kim Possible”. She’d be amazing as Razor.

Michaela Jill Murphy – Kitty

Michaela Jill Murphy vibrant energy as Toph Beifong in “Avatar the Last Air Bender,” would give Kitty a delightful sense of whimsy and energy!

Steve Blum – Gamin

Steve Blum, a legendary voice actor, who has voiced characters like the god-tier Spike Spiegel in “Cowboy Bebop,” could lend his deep and resonant voice to Gamin, giving him a sense of wisdom and gravitas!

Lisa Foiles – Era

Lisa Foiles, known for her performances and comedic charm on “All That,” along with her musical background,  would be amazing in bringing Era to life!

Laura Bailey – Switch

Laura Bailey, voice actress for roles such as Rise Kujikawa in “Persona 4,” could bring Switch to life with her authority, presence, and kindness. I also loved her as Kid Trunks!

Yuri Lowenthal – Quake

Yuri Lowenthal was freaking awesome as Haseo in “.hack//G.U.” and he’d breathe depth and complexity into the shy, quiet Quake!

Bryce Papenbrook – Neo

Bryce Papenbrook, known for his versatile performance as Meliodas in “The Seven Deadly Sins”, would bring Neo’s unique, loud, and playful personality to life. Cat Noir, baby!!!

Christopher Sabat – Adan

Christopher Sabat is amazing as Vegeta in “Dragon Ball Z”, All Might in “My Hero Academia”, and depth and malice would give Adan a powerful and unforgettable presence!

Erica Lindbeck – Dash

Erica Lindbeck, with her dynamic range and energetic delivery as Futaba in “Persona 5,” would breathe life into Dash!

Liam O’Brien – Capus

Liam O’Brien’s commanding voice, as with Akihiko in “Persona 3” and Endrance in “.hack// G.U.” would lend authority and gravitas to Capus’s presence and leave a lasting impact on readers. Watchers?

Chris Rager – Rowind

Chris Rager’s powerful voice, like Hercule in “Dragon Ball Z” and my freaking dude Mr. Torgue in “Borderlands” would embody the might and strength of Captain Rowind!

Johnny Yong Bosch – Kirin

Johnny Yong Bosch, with his dynamic range and as Vash the Stampede in “Trigun”, Kuhn in “.hack// G.U.” and Nero in “Devil May Cry 4” would embody the quiet complexity of Kirin, allowing for a strong but more reserved energy!

Villains

Ashley Burch – Mira

Ashley Burch is one of my favorite voice actors in the world! Loved her as Chloe in “Life is Strange” and especially adored her manic energy as Tiny Tina in “Borderlands” and I believe she would infuse Mira with an alluring blend of charm and villainy!

Brian Drummond – Gor

Brian Drummond, the 1st maniac English Voice actor for Vegeta in the Ocean dub of “Dragon Ball Z”, Ryuk in “Death Note”, and Zechs in “Gundam Wing”, has a sinister voice that would bring Gor to life!

Bryce Pinkham – Tyree

Bryce Pinkham, voice to Stolas in “Helluva Boss,” has a talent for portraying nuanced characters and would add a calculated and cunning quality to Tyree!

Vic Mignogna – Dante

Vic Mignogna’s ability to deliver chilling performances, like Vega in “Street Fighter the Animated Movie,” would make Dante an unforgettable antagonist!

In Conclusion

Cristina Vee, Cheremi Leigh, Christy Carlson Romano, Michaela Jill Murphy, Steve Blum, Lisa Foiles, Laura Bailey, Johnny Yong Bosch, Bryce Papenbrook, Christopher Sabat, Erica Lindbeck, Liam O’Brien, Chris Rager, Yuri Lowenthal, Ashley Burch, Brian Drummond, Bryce Pinkham, and Vic Mignogna form a dream list of voices that would elevate and bring my characters to life.
