Writing Journey #34- Leaving Kindle Vella

I DECIDED TO LEAVE KINDLE VELLA. In that, I mean I’m taking my story off the site. It did well for a few months, but it has stagnated. I’m trying to get Hand of Rel out there, and I feel like the story being locked on Kindle Vella isn’t helping. If people can’t read it, they don’t care. And readers aren’t going to pay for a story they don’t know about. And you need to pay to unlock chapters.

It was a good run on Kindle Vella, but I’m looking for ways to expand the story and reach new readers. And since Kindle Vella doesn’t allow you to post the story anywhere without a paywall, I have decided to leave the platform. I want to read the story on YouTube. I want to post clips without fear of having the story taken down. To do that I have to leave.

I WILL BE MOVING the story onto free-to-read websites like Wattpad, Inkitt, Penana, and Miraquill. I’ve been trying to reach readers on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. But I need to go where people read, and I believe that posting to these new sites will get my book in front of an audience that will enjoy my stories.

THE NEXT STEP? I’m going to publish the story on Amazon KDP. Working on the cover and editing the manuscript. Look forward to seeing Hand of Rel on other platforms! Here’s to expanding my story’s reach, and finishing the tale I started. And with this choice? I plan to bust the rest of the story out. It’s time. I’m ready! Please, join me on this journey.
