I PLAN TO WRITE DAILY. This is blog #2 of 2022! It’s 11:39 pm, January 22nd, 2022, but this will be posted on the 3rd. I’m sitting alone in my office. I watched Matrix Resurrections on HBOMax and ate some leftover pancit and toast. I’m listening to calming music on Youtube. My wife and my 3 babies are fast asleep. I’m taking some time to myself, to think, to ponder, and to recharge. A moment I haven’t had since 2022 began, and a much-needed respite as I decide to plot my plans for 2022.
I should be asleep. We need to wake up at 6am, but my mind is restless. So many thoughts. So many ideas. So many emotions. I want to focus the chaos because I have a lot I want to achieve this year, moving forward. So much I want to accomplish as I settle into what may be the final years of my life. That’s why I want to write down my journey, take stock of what I decide to do from here on out, and leave a trail as I finish what I started so many years ago: finish my story.
At this moment, at this time, I’m hopeful. I’m eager to get started. I’m excited to finish! This is the year where I push harder than I ever have and bring to light the story I started when I was only a child. I was 13-years-old. And this story has stayed with me ever since. Now, married with 3 kids and on the verge of 41, I’m done waiting. I’m done putting these ideas on the shelf with almost and what-ifs. I’m doing this. For me. For my family. For the gift of time and artistry that the Lord has blessed me with. This is the moment. Here we go!!!
POST TO KINDLE VELLA. I have two stories planned for Kindle Vella: Eyes of Genesis and Social Panic. I started writing Social Panic on Wattpad. But I will move my work to Kindle Vella since I will be publishing everything I write KDP platform. It all kind of fits together on Amazon? I may post my stories on Kindle Vella first and then publish them through KDP.
CREATE A MERCHANDISE SHOP. I will design more T-shirts, stickers, and physical/digital prints to be sold on Kofi. I also want to have some NSFW content that you’ll only be able to find on my Kofi page. Kofi has this cool feature where you can sell digital prints and other merch by linking them all on your page. I just need to connect my Paypal to it, and I’ll start posting new designs there soon.
RECORD MYSELF READING CHAPTERS. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I want to read the chapters of Hand of Rel: Horsemen of Paper and record myself as I read them. Kind of like an audiobook, but on Youtube. I have family and loved ones that don’t really like to read, and while they support me as a creator, they don’t have the time to sit down and read. So this is a way to get the story out and allow my family, and others like them, to get into my book without having to commit time they may not have to a book they know nothing about.
I want to read the book and record myself reading first. At some point, if I ever get the money, I would like to hire voice actors and create a visual novel or at the very least make a version of the audiobook that has a fully voiced cast. I always love what Heidi Tabing brings to Rel Rel, and I would like to work with her again if I can. I also have some voice actors in mind for other characters, but that requires money I don’t have right now. It’s an idea that I hope to bring to light someday. But for now? Just me, my voice, and my words. That will be enough.
FINISH THE FINAL BOOKS IN THE SERIES. I posted the timeline for the books, and I want to finish them. I know I won’t get to all of them this year, but I at least want to have Scent of Revival written and perhaps ready to be published by 2023.
POST MORE OFTEN TO SOCIAL MEDIA. I want to post daily to Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok. I have videos and content ready. I just need to start editing them together and pushing them onto those platforms.
MAKE A LIVING AS AN ARTIST. I want to make a living with the work I create. Making anything at all would be nice. I’m really going to push for that this year. Many have done it before me, and I know I can still do it.
AS AN END NOTE I started to watch Matrix 4 because my brother suggested it. I’m an hour and 20 minutes in, but I am digging it so far! I love the way it feels, and it’s giving me so much inspiration to finish my book. To put my story out there.
My brother and I also played Fortnite earlier today, and we finally beat the Rock (The Foundation)!!! I got his gun. It was so cool! We got 3rd place, but it was worth it to take down one of the optional bosses.
I also started playing Fortnite with my little brother and youngest sibling, which has been nice. We’ve all been squading together and having fun! I haven’t spent time with them all like this, in well? Ever I don’t think. So It’s been nice to play the game together. It’s a way to keep in touch, to bond in a way we haven’t in years, and for me to unwind and relax. I love them. I’ll be posting our Fortnite exploits on Youtube soon!
