Writing Journey #19- The Story So Far 2019

THE ADVENTURES OF REL REL: LOST MIRROR is the first of my stories that I have finished. Yes, it was finished back in 2013. Then I left my publisher. And then I started posting it to Wattpad, this year. So Lost Mirror has had an adventure of its own, to say the least! But I decided to post it since I have always wanted to use it as a launching point for the rest of the series. I am happy to say that it is finished, published in its entirety to Wattpad, and finally has a home where anyone can read it.

Since Lost Mirror was written and published so long ago, I decide back in my last Writing Journey that it was time to stop messing around, and finish my stories! Here’s how it is going so far.

HAND OF REL: SOCIAL PANIC is the next story I plan to publish on Wattpad. It’s YA Fiction that follows Rel Rel as she deals with people, society in general, and social anxiety. The book is done! Rough draft, though. But finished! I am debating on whether I want to add a few more chapters since each chapter deals with a specific scenario. And when you’re dealing with people, there are many scenarios to write about! I am hoping to have it written and published to Wattpad, in its entirety, by the end of the year.

HAND OF REL: WATCHER’S PARADOX is the longest story I will finish this year. While Lost Mirror is only 4 chapters, and Social Panic is around 13 (unless I decide to add a few more chapters), Watcher’s Paradox will be about the average length of a novel, or so. It will be the first story I have written and published that will have the war and fantasy elements I have been working towards. And while Lost Mirror was more of a kid’s book, and Social Panic is a slice of life where I get to vent my frustration about people and society, Watcher’s Paradox will be in the same vein as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Fantasy, through and through, son! I am a decent amount into the story, and I hope to finish it and have it ready to post by the end of this year. Ideally, I would like to have at least a few chapters up on Wattpad before the 2019 ends.

IMAGINATION IS A NEW STORYFIRE tale that I’m working on, for fun. Storyfire is an interesting app, where most of the stories on the platform read like scripts. Mostly dialogue and description. Which is really fun to write! Most of my chapters start off this way, so I can bust out some fun stories I’ve had on hold since I don’t have to draft too much of the details. Ya, dig? So be sure to follow my Storyfire account for more updates on Hand of Rel: Imagination! I also plan to add Storyfire versions of the Musings webcomic, but in written form, of course.

A FOR THE REST OF THE BOOKS in the series, they are sitting on the back burner, for now. I want to finish Social Panic and Watcher’s Paradox, first. After that, the plan is to traditionally publish the rest of the four books in the series. My Wattpad and StoryFire stories will be there to pad out the time, while the rest of these stories are written, and until they find a proper traditional publishing house.

THAT’S THE STORY SO FAR! I am happy with my progress. Social Panic and Watcher’s Paradox are well underway! I just need to finish up some covers, header images, and some character bio artwork, and they will be ready to go up! So please, stay tuned, because they’re going to be awesome!
