Writing Journey #27- Hand of Rel Timeline (Update)
I’VE ALWAYS HAD A TIMELINE OF EVENTS. I wrote about my plans for the Hand of Rel saga back in Writing Journey #18. A bit has changed since then, but the overall goal is still pretty much the same. I just changed a lot of the names. From now on, my stories will be published chapter by chapter on webnovel sites like Kindle Vella and then published in paperback and hardcover on my Kindle Direct Publishing site.
Here are the titles for the new timeline.
The Adventures of Rel Rel: LOST MIRROR
OBVIOUSLY, LOST MIRROR is the beginning of the story. It sets up Rel Rel, her past, her relation with Lily, and the mirror. As I’ve said before, this book has already been published. So, since it’s been taken out of circulation, I will soon be publishing Lost Mirror on KDP.
Rel Life: SOCIAL PANIC
SOCIAL PANIC IS BASED OFF an idea I had for a webcomic. It will follow Rel Rel’s everyday life, as she deals with people and severe social anxiety. It’s pretty much a way for me to vent my frustrations on society through writing. It’s more slice of life than anything else since there won’t be any fantasy elements. Rel Rel is 15-years-old, here. This is a serialized story that I will be publishing on Kindle Vella soon.
Hand of Rel: EYES of GENESIS
EYES OF GENESIS will be a short story that will show a 35-year-old Rel Rel with a son and daughter. It will focus more on the Eyes’ journey and how they came to find Rel Rel when she first falls into the Muse Realm in Horsemen of Paper. This is a serialized story that I will be publishing on Kindle Vella soon.
Hand of Rel: HORSEMEN of PAPER
HORSEMEN OF PAPER is the story that my website has revolved around. All the artwork, Youtube videos, and ideas presented so far have been about Horsemen of Paper. This is the story where Rel Rel falls into the Muse Realm. Horsemen of Paper kicks off the events of the entire series. It takes place on the eve of Rel Rel’s 16th birthday. I entered it into a writing contest but didn’t make it through. So I will attempt to publish it on Kindle Vella if they let me. And it will subsequently be published on KDP in hardcover and paperback, as well soon.
Hand of Rel: SCENTS of REVIVAL
SCENTS OF REVIVAL is based on a book I wrote a long time ago. It will essentially be the polished, finished version of the story I wrote when I was 13-years-old. Characters have been reworked, scenarios cut, and ideas streamlined, but it will follow the events of what I had initially planned. Rel Rel must make amends for her decisions in Horsemen of Paper. These events take place when Rel Rel is 17-years-old.
Hand of Rel: SOUNDS of JUDGMENT
SOUNDS OF JUDGEMENT IS GOING TO be the book where the events in Eyes of Genesis finally come to a head. While Eyes of Genesis will resolve the core story on its own, of course, I will revisit that setup and bring things to an epic conclusion here. Rel Rel is 18-years-old when Eyes of Genesis takes place.
Hand of Rel: VOICES of REQUIEM
VOICES OF REQUIEM IS THE STORY that I am most excited to write. It’s the end. The finale. Where everything just goes nuts! I’ve had this story planned out, written in my head, and ready to be put on paper for ages. I have an entire playlist dedicated to this one book, where each song is specific to every chapter. I’ve seen the events in my head play over and over… and I am writing all the books in such a way that they build to this one moment. So excited to write it! In this final story, I plan for Rel Rel to be 21-years-old, when the books conclude.
